Sharing Books since 2016 !

We did it! In 2016 $500 was raised through our Facebook fundraiser in support of our Inclusive Play Library at Cave Hollow Park. Thank you to all who shared, liked, donated, and supported! To celebrate, we are planning a reading party. On Thursday, November 3, we invite any and all who support our literacy project to come to the grand opening and dedication of the Little Free Library. The Johnson County Adult Literacy Program, in conjunction with the Johnson County Board of Services and Sheltered Workshop, are sponsoring this free, family-friendly event.

A Grand Opening Celebration was held in 2016 from 5-7pm at Cave Hollow Park (near the concession stand), all were offered free hot cocoa, hot cider, cookies, and snacks. All were entered to win beautiful classic children's books. There were new books from our Neurodiversity collection and book plates for donors to complete for commemoration and inclusion in the collection. After a few words by Scott Holmberg, Executive Director of the Johnson County Board of Services, and Sara Evans, Coordinator of the Johnson County Adult Literacy Program, everyone was invited to grab a book and a snack and hunker down for a read!

At 6:30, all were treated to a special bedtime story by Trails Regional Library's Anita Love from the classic book The Wind in the Willows.
